I've had some sweet times this week sitting in my rocking chair over by the window, Bible and journal in hand. This verse was in my One Year Bible for a few days ago, and for some reason it resonated with me. I'm certainly not in that place of having a longing fulfilled, but I'm also not in the place of a hope deferred either; I'm somewhere in between. This verse challenged me to begin thinking about how I can be living a life where my longings are serving to grow roots so that the tree of life can have a firm foundation. It's not easy, but it helps give purpose to the "in between" times of life.

A Longing Fulfilled
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." - Proverbs 13:12
